New Hobby

I'm trying to spin with a drop spindle. The spindle isn't dropping so often now but the yarn looks terrible. It's strange how people (me) expect to be good at something as soon as they start doing it. I have a lot of roving to mess about with and no money for a spinning wheel so mastering the drop spindle may be my summer project.

In knitting news I'm soldiering on with the Longest Night Shawl. I've finished all the "Swirling Snow" charts.

This shawl is using 26 of my smallest stitch markers and I'll need to 16 more to finish. Instead of Clover or handmade stitch markers Marion and I use rubber o-rings from a local hardware store. At 19 cents each they are cheaper than buying a pack of 20 clover and using only 10 and they are the perfect size for socks.
